AccuCapper™ LD is a light-duty, portable, hand-held cap tightener. It’s great for low-production environments and cap closures with diameters up to 1.1” (28 mm). It’s suitable for all types of caps that do not require extreme torque values or have large-diameter closures.

This machine features an adjustable clutch to ensure proper torque and decrease insert wear. Once the closure reaches the set torque value, the chuck will stop rotating, signaling the operator to move on to the next container.

It ships standard with a stand and an overhead slide rail. Its self-balancer allows it to be suspended neatly and weightlessly overhead, out of the way during case changes, reducing operator fatigue. It also ships with one standard chuck and insert (up to a Size #25).

How do I set up my AccuCapper?

It’s easy; you just need to suspend it from something stable and reliable. Accutek can provide an optional support stand that you can mount to a surface. Then you assemble the stand with the pneumatic hose hanger attached to the crossbar. It should be free to slide back and forth, be positioned over the containers being capped, and out of the way when not in use.

How do I make adjustments to the clutch?

To adjust the clutch, insert either one of your capping chucks or a ¼” Allen wrench into the chuck end of the tool. Then insert the 1/8” dowel pin into the hole through the narrow slit. If the hole is not visible, rotate the capping chuck or Allen wrench until one of two holes available comes into view at the slit. Once the hole is located and the dowel pin inserted, rotate the Allen wrench or capping chuck clockwise to increase torque or counterclockwise to decrease torque. Once adjusted, remove the dowel pin and stow it away for safekeeping. When the torque setting is reached during the capping operation, the chuck will ratchet. This means the proper torque has been achieved and you can release the handgrip.

What other sizes of inserts are there?

The chuck sizes range from 10 mm to 120 mm. The insert will wear during operation, rather than damaging your container lids. If the clutch is set properly, you can cap plenty of containers during each insert’s lifetime. If the clutch is not set properly to disengage at the appropriate torque, the insert may slip and wear excessively. Insufficient downward pressure can also cause excessive wear.
