ASC Series – Automatic Spindle capping machine

Product Variants

The Accutek Automatic Spindle Cappers machines are designed to automatically place and tighten a wide variety of screw and lug-type closures onto containers in a sanitary environment. Each tightening spindle is spring-loaded and driven by a torque-sensitive individual motor for increased disk-to-cap contact and reduced disk wear.

This unique design eliminates the need for transmissions, belts, pulleys, and universal shafts. This reduces the size of the machine, lowers maintenance time, and expands the capper’s capability and adjustability. The ASC series can accommodate standard closure sizes ranging from 1 to 12 cm with no additional components.

ASCs ship standard with a centrifugal bowl closure orientation system for line speeds up to 120 CPM. The system can be upgraded with an optional closure elevator/orientator, increasing line speed and efficiency.

Single gripper belts are standard and have a tapered container adjustment to accommodate sloped containers up to 8.5” (21.59 cm) wide. Various optional gripper belt configurations are available for higher production rates, torque requirements, or difficult-to-handle containers.

Why are there so many knobs on this machine?

These are the controls for adjusting the:
  • Spindle wheels’ speeds
  • Gripper belt tightness
  • Spindle tightness
  • Hopper speed
  • Gripper belt speed

What happens if my machine has an issue? What should I do?

If you have a problem with the ASC, there’s a troubleshooting section in the manual that describes various potential problems you may have, and how to solve them. If the provided solutions don’t work or the problem is outside the manual’s scope, then please give Accutek’s service department a call. We’ll do what we can to walk you through fixing the problem.

How often should I perform maintenance on the machine?

We recommend performing daily, weekly, and quarterly maintenance. The machine needs to have its air regulator checked daily for moisture. Also, make sure that the cooling fan on top of the control panel is operating. Every week, you’ll need to clean all external surfaces with a mild detergent. You must never wash the top of the machine with a water hose. Since the motors used to drive the spindle tensioning wheel aren’t sealed, this will cause them to short out. As for every quarter, you’ll need to remove the top guard for servicing. Blow out any accumulated dust prior to servicing your equipment. As with any type of rotating equipment, ensure proper isolation from the electrical and pneumatic supply.
